Framework for the Future

Throughout the spring of 2004, a group of 30 parents, community members, teachers, staff, and administrators served on a task force to create a draft of a strategic Framework for the Future.

Their work completed a process begun the previous summer that resulted in the development of a purpose statement and key target areas for the future.  The guiding document now also identifies School District 16 Values, Vision for the Year 2008, Primary Goal, and Strategic Directions.

Task force members unveiled the "Framework" draft to the School Board in June 2004.  Parents and staff members that spoke to the Board described the process as "energetic, harmonious, very productive," and that there was "freedom to think, talk, and express ourselves."

After more discussion and revisions, the School Board adopted the Framework for the Future in October 2004, providing a new, measurable focus for the coming years.
